Alteration specialist

We are hiring an experienced Alteration Specialist to join Northeast Cleaners. You’ll handle clothing alterations and repairs, take accurate measurements, and deliver clean, high-quality finishing that customers can trust.

What you’ll do

  • Alter and repair garments: hemming, taking in/letting out, sleeve adjustments, zipper work, and basic repairs
  • Take measurements and help customers choose the right fix
  • Mark, pin, and finish garments with a clean, professional look
  • Keep work consistent and on-time, especially for deadlines
  • Check your work before it leaves the shop (fit, stitching, and finish)
  • Keep your station organized and tools in good working order

What we’re looking for

  • Solid alterations/tailoring experience
  • Strong sewing skills (machine + basic hand sewing)
  • Good eye for fit, balance, and clean finishing
  • Ability to handle multiple items while staying on schedule
  • Basic English communication
